I've really fallen out of love with the Shelby. I wonder if Roush is going to have a package around the same price, like the 427R, with IRS.

I still love the car, if only to dream of roasting tires with 662 HP. By wanting a Roush 427R, are you referring to what they'd do with the S550 Mustang when it's introduced?
I've heard that you'd have to cover the Roush mods with an appropriate insurance policy, since you'd otherwise just be paying for the Mustang GT used as the base car. But I guess that's the way it is with all tuner packages.

The 427R was a 2010 special edition that used the 4.6l V8 at around 435HP, with independent rear suspension, a new LSD, and some cosmetic mods. Supposedly it was a great track car, well before the Boss 302 came out.

I knew the 427R existed, but not that it had an IRS.

It depends on the specs, since not every one was made equal (they had a ton of different factory options, depending on what you spend) but some left with IRS, others with mostly cosmetic changes.
Roush has kind of gotten soft since the days of the Terminator Stage 3.
